Course Overview

Provide First Aid course is designed to train any person in how to respond to First Aid emergencies that may happen in the office, at home, or elsewhere. Our First Aid course is designed for First Aiders to manage patient care until the arrival of an Ambulance or medical assistance. This describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

This course will develop skills in the learner to assist and support them when conducting first aid on an injured or sick person.

At Hope Training College of Australia, this qualification will be delivered in 7.5 hours of supervised instructions. Prior the start of the unit, students will be instructed to complete the 7.5 hours of online or Learning Guide (book/Online) study and Student will complete online/Paper assessment before they attend Practical Session.

Course Fee:
$85 (Fee can be paid the same day through Credit Card or Bank Transfer.)

Refund Policy: We are unable to refund monies for students who do not turn up for first aid classes or decide at a later date after booking that they do not want to attend. Changes to class times are allowed, but not within 48 hours of the class commencing.

Validity: Your Provide First Aid certificate is valid for three (3) years. The CPR component of the course is valid for 12 months and will need to be updated annually for you to keep your certification current.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS - There are no pre-requisites for this course except
Applicant must be 18 years or older.
Applicant must be a domestic student, not an International student.
A preliminary Language, Literacy and Numeracy test can be conducted at Hope Training College of Australia to assess the skill level of the applicant at the time of admission if the student is not refreshing his/her existing qualification.

What you will learn
Injuries: Cold and crush injuries, eye and ear injuries, head, neck and spinal injuries; minor skin injuries; needle stick injuries; soft tissue injuries including sprains, strains and dislocations.
Burns: From thermal, chemical, friction, or electrical contact
Environmental Impact: Hypothermia, hyperthermia, dehydration or heat stroke
Envenomation: From a snake, spider, insect and marine bites/stings
Medical conditions: Such as cardiac conditions, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, and other respiratory conditions
Substance Misuse: High intake of common drugs and alcohol, including illicit drugs
Awareness of stress management techniques and available support
Other Conditions: Allergic reactions, bleeding, chest pain, choking/airway obstruction, fractures, near drowning, respiratory diseases, seizures, shock, stroke, altered or loss of consciousness, causality with no signs of life, excessive intake of poisoning and toxic substances (including chemical contamination).
